About This Game
John Herrin survived a horrible accident and as a result, he damaged his brain and lost his memory. Only Dr. Rick Norberg and the friendly robot "AB" can help John to recover from his brain damage and restore his broken memory.
By falling asleep and rediscovering the past in his dreams, John can restore his memory and remember what caused the unfortunate catastrophe in one of the most secretive laboratories of the "Revivel" company.
But due to John's brain damage, falling asleep won't be as easy as it seems at first... John will start to hallucinate and hear sounds that will only make it harder to fall asleep. Only by dealing with his fears and staying calm can he successfully fall asleep, otherwise, his overwhelmingly high stress may lead to an untimely death ...
“Try to Fall Asleep” is an indie horror game. The main goal of the game is to fall asleep before the time runs out. The brain damage from the accident won’t help, since it’ll make you hallucinate terrible things. Once you fall asleep, you'll start to dream and relive the horror that lead up to the horrific catastrophe. At its core it has an interesting story with a very deep and intriguing lore.
With the help of an info panel at the bottom left corner, you'll be able to monitor your stress and sleep levels. Any hallucination or anomaly will raise the stress level and if it fills up, the game will be over. Calm your stress by turning on the old fashioned lamp. However, it may burn out if you use it too much.
The more you keep your eyes closed, the more sleep you'll get and the higher the sleep level will be. Once it's full, you'll fall asleep and start to dream...

"Try To Fall Asleep" Beta v0.2 UPDATE:
Thank you all for such an awesome feedback! We've made an update for the Beta which will address some bugs as well as add a few new things. So what's in this update:
- Added a few new graphics which will help the player to better understand the objective in the dream sequence and the usage of the blanket mechanic.
- AB's voice is now slightly louder.
- Added a pulsing light to the generator in the dream sequence to help the player find the generator easier.
- Fixed some issues with the fence in the dream sequence where the player could walk thru it.
- Improved the monster scares while in the lab.
- Fixed glitching text issues.
- Fixed an issue with graphics being still visible while the eyes are closed.
We know that people have been complaining about the blanket mechanic, so we'll try to improve it in the upcoming updates.

. Future Road map of "Try To Fall Asleep"
Today we've got some announcements for the future of the game as well as a few updates regarding the 0.5 update.
So first of all, all 2-4 of us want to say a huge thanks to everyone who played the beta, made videos and gave us a lot of incredible feedback. Honestly, we weren't expecting such a huge and positive response. You all are amazing and the feedback we received will be an incredible tool for make a great game. Thank you!
Alright, let's get down to the business. What's happening with the game, what's the progress, how long is it till the full game! So as you may know, in the making of the newest update we lost all the bug fixes and improvements that we did after launching beta, meaning that we're back at 0.1 again(thank god we had backups!). Currently, everything is running fine and we've managed to re-apply some of the bug fixes that we did in the updates. Here's the thing - at some point we'd like to launch an early access version of the game so that we could use the earnings to buy assets(models, sounds, textures, etc.) and potentially hire voice actors to record some lines for the dream sequences. Since the original plan was to work on the early access shortly after launching the beta, we decided to stick to that plan. So in short, 0.5 will not be released as a beta, but it will come as a true free demo along side the early access version, which will have more content. This will give us a chance to progress faster in the development and apply a lot of new features, like better performance and a rebuilt 1st dream sequence laboratory and nightmare maze.
The full game? Well, honestly it's really hard to predict, but if all goes well, it should come out later this year. :P

I wanted to say HUGE thanks to those who stayed with us the whole time and have been as passionate as we are about the game. Although our community is yet small, I'm very grateful for having one at all! :))
So as you may have heard, we launched our Kickstarter a few days ago. Unfortunately, it's not doing so well as we hoped it would... Even though we've only reached 5% of our goal, I'm still indescribably thankful and grateful for all the pledges and support.
We're not giving up yet!
. “Try To Fall Asleep” Beta Patch V0.4
Today we’re releasing a pretty big patch with a lot of requested features and suggestions from the community! So what’s in this update -Falling asleep sequence
The dream sequence
- Updated tutorial graphics.
- AB’s voice is now a bit more louder.
- Hallucinations appear a bit less often.
- There’s a brand new hallucination!
- The map of the facility now has a “You are here” mark on it.
- Now the player moves slightly slower.
- Now the player can’t jump out of the nightmare sequence.
- New animated text continuation icon.
- Now the player needs to collect 5 instead of 6 fuses.
- Added a stress ambiance for each stress level.
- When the player dies in the dream sequence, the game restarts the dream sequence and doesn’t go back to the main menu.
- Monsters in the nightmare sequence won't spawn right in front of the player.
- Minor performance improvements.
As always, we’re still open to all suggestions and feedback. We’re currently working on a few more complicated improvements, which will take a bit more time to complete. Also, the Mac and Linux version will be available soon. ;)

We’d like to give small update on the launch of the early access!
Although we had a little issue at launch, luckily everything got resolved and everything is now up and running.
We’ve been listening to the feedback from the community and have set a few goals for the next big update to the game. So first of all, let’s start with a few minor things:
1. We’ve heard people say that some of the animations could be improved both in the falling asleep and dreaming sequences. This will be something that we’ll try to improve in the next update.
2. Adding maps throughout the Pinetree island for easier navigation in the second dream level.
3. Adding a few additional scares in the pine tree island.
The most requested thing to improve by far are the nightmare sequences when picking up a fuse or a note. This is something that we should’ve done earlier, but due to time constraints for the Kickstarter we had to leave it as it was. The issue is that the nightmare sequences got a bit redundant after a few tries, especially on the island when you had a very wide area to flee around. We agree that the best solution to improve this aspect of the game is to add some mini games. They’ll replace some of the FLEE scenarios and add some additional variety to the nightmare sequences. Although we’re not ready yet to fully reveal what each mini game will be, we can say that we have a few ideas for them and it’ll be our top priority for the next update.
